The Master in Engineering (Biomedical) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Technical University Ilmenau (TUIL) Germany have established an International Double Degree program in Biomedical Engineering. Under this program, students will receive two certificates: Master in Engineering (Biomedical) from UTM and/or Master in Biomedical Engineering (MSc) from TUIL. To participate, students must spend a minimum of 7 months at the partner university. These three Masters by research programs are offered on a full-time basis, allowing students to conduct research in their chosen area of interest. Each research project is supervised by a lecturer from the Graduate Faculty, which consists of academic staff with doctoral degrees or at least an associate professor rank who are directly or indirectly involved in post-graduate programs. Additionally, co-supervisors from related industries may also be involved in the research process.
