Your core modules will help you develop key knowledge and skills, including:

• Introduction to Fashion Design Principles and Processes 
• Visual Research and Study Skills
• Fashion Design, Materials and Textiles - how to creatively integrate and explore a variety of media, techniques, technologies and materials
• Fashion Futures - the ways in which historical and contemporary context and theory inform future art and design practice

At the end of your first year, you’ll choose to specialise in either womenswear or menswear for the rest of your degree.

Your second year will encourage experimentation and challenge your thinking and ideas. You’ll take 3 more core modules to advance your existing skills. You'll explore:

• Traditional and Digital Fashion Processes
• Critical Thinking and Writing for Fashion
• Fashion Industry

You’ll also choose a further specialist option from a broad range of modules, such as: 

• Business Skills for the Creative Industries
• Creative Futures - exploring democratic forms of innovation, including collaborative and environmental practices, activism, social innovation and economic sustainability
• Creative Writing
• Image and Branding
• Visual Culture - the role of images in the construction of identity and the ways in which we understand the world around us

You’ll expand your experience by choosing to either: 

• gain practical, real-world skills by working on briefs from the industry
• spend a semester at a partner university in Europe or further afield, to explore fashion from a global perspective

You’ll consolidate your experience to create a professional body of work to present to clients, employers, industry professionals and press at public shows and events. 

Your final modules will equip you with the knowledge needed to work in the fashion industry, specifically:

• Professional Fashion Practice 
• Professional and Industry Context for Fashion
• Critical Thinking and Writing for Fashion
