The Doctor of Philosophy (Communication) research program is offered within the Faculty of Communication. This program is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to engage in advanced research within their chosen area of interest, including but not limited to areas such as interpersonal communication, mass media studies, digital communication, organizational communication, public relations, rhetoric, and more. Under the guidance of experienced and respected researchers, students will receive supervision tailored to their specific research interests. Additionally, they will have access to exceptional research facilities, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed in their research endeavors.

Entry Requirements

• A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field or related fields accepted by the Senate; OR
• A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the Senate, subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment; OR
• A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in non-related fields as accepted by the Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses; OR
• A Bachelor’s degree with minimum CGPA of 3.67 or equivalent in the field or related field from MMU or institutions recognised by the Senate can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field recognised by Malaysian Government
