The Bachelor of Applied Geology program at Curtin University Malaysia is a leading provider of skilled graduates for the Petroleum, Minerals, Groundwater, and Environmental industries, both in Malaysia and abroad. The program offers high-impact research opportunities across various disciplines. Its goal is to inspire students to acquire the academic and practical skills necessary for future employment. This stream focuses on the study of sedimentary basins, petroleum geology, geophysics, and petroleum engineering, specifically related to the evaluation, development, and exploitation of oil and gas resources. The Petroleum Geology Project and Honours Dissertation enable students to develop core research skills, including experimental, theoretical, and field-based studies, data collection and analysis, critical scientific analysis, and reporting. Completing this project demonstrates to potential employers the ability to work independently, plan and execute complex tasks within defined deadlines. Additionally, students have the opportunity to publish their research in peer-reviewed journals/books and engage in international research collaborations.
