What you will learn in a glance?

In the first year, students will acquire fundamental skills required for technical game development professionals. They will gain a basic understanding of programming and systems design, along with specialized modules focusing on interactive computer game development. These modules will cover topics such as logic design, graphics, and more. In addition to technical knowledge, the modules will foster the development of personal and organizational skills, as well as nurture creativity and innovation.

Moving into the second year provides students with in-depth game analysis and design skills. They will gain a comprehensive understanding of the complete computer game production lifecycle, including character modeling, special effects, computer graphics, animation, mathematics, and more. The focus will be on enhancing creativity, innovation, and independent learning to prepare students for the dynamic workplace of game development.

During the 16-week internship or industrial training, students will undertake practical training to facilitate a smooth transition from the classroom to the working environment. This hands-on experience will allow them to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios, gaining valuable industry experience. The internship will enhance their practical understanding, expand their professional networks, and equip them with essential workplace skills.

In the third year, students will build upon their previous studies and industrial experience to further extend their familiarity with the field of Computer game development and refine their personal and professional development. They will delve into advanced techniques for computer graphics and animation, exploring innovative approaches. The final year project will require students to investigate and develop a solution for a real-world problem, showcasing their ability to combine technical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills. This project will serve as a personal achievement portfolio, demonstrating their expertise in the field.

Dual Degrees from APU and DMU United Kindom

Students who joined Bachelor (Hons) in Computer Games Development at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
